'(1) In section 9(1) of the Finance Act 1972 (Standard Rate of value-added tax) as amended by the Finance (No. 2) Act 1979 for the words "fifteen per cent." there shall be substituted the words "Twelve and a half per cent. (2) The above section 1 shall come into effect on 1st October 1983.'.—[Mr. David Steel.]
