HC Deb 14 April 1983 vol 40 c929
10. Mr. Andrew F. Bennett

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what is the latest figure for the number of women unemployed in Northern Ireland.

Mr. Adam Butler

At 10 March 1983 there were 30,229 unemployed women claiming benefit in Northern Ireland.

Mr. Bennett

What will the Government do about that, particularly in terms of providing jobs for women in Northern Ireland?

Mr. Butler

The Government have just announced important measures to help employment generally in the Province. I am sure that women will take advantage of those measures.
