Queen's Recommendation having been signified—

Resolved, That, for the purposes of any Act of the present Session to regulate the use of automatically processed information relating to individuals and the provision of services in respect of such information, it is expedient to authorise—

  1. (a) the charging on and issue out of the Consolidated Fund of any sums required for paying a salary to, or paying (or making payments towards the provision of) a pension, allowance or gratuity to, or in respect of, the Registrar appointed under that Act;
  2. (b) the payment out of moneys provided by Parliament of—
    1. (i) the expenses of the Registrar;
    2. (ii) any expenses incurred by the Secretary of State in respect of the Tribunal established by that Act or the members of that Tribunal;
    3. (iii) any expenses incurred by a government department in complying with the requirements imposed by that Act on data users and persons carrying on computer bureaux;
  3. (c) any increase attributable to that Act in the sums which are payable out of such moneys under any other Act.—[Mr. Major.]
