§ Mr. Secretary Heseltine, supported by Mr. Peter Walker, Mr. Secretary Edwards, Mr. Nicholas Ridley, Mr. Tom King, Mr. Peter Rees and Mr. Giles Shaw, presented a Bill to make provision as to the constitution and procedure of water authorities and their borrowing and 117 other powers and as to arrangements for the carrying out of their sewerage functions; to enable water authorities and statutory water companies to provide advice and assistance outside the United Kingdom; to provide for the dissolution of the National Water Council and the Water Space Amenity Commission; to repeal section 25(1)(d) of the Local Government Act 1974 and the Water Charges Equalisation Act 1977; and for connected purposes; And the same was read the First time; and ordered to be read a Second time tomorrow and to be printed [Bill 6].
