HC Deb 14 May 1981 vol 4 c890
Mr. Speaker

I have two brief statements to make. First, I did not want to interrupt the exchanges between the Leader of the Opposition and the Prime Minister. I should have notified the House, however, that, anticipating the feeling of the House, I have sent a message of sympathy concerning the outrage in Rome and saying that our prayers are for the recovery of His Holiness the Pope.
