§ Question again proposed, That the amendment be made.
§ Mr. Dewar
I shall continue literally in mid-sentence. I was not, however, impressed by the Minister's pleasure.
There will be a limited number of occasions on which the matter may arise. It would have been scandalous had 788 compensation been paid in the circumstances of the loss of a right to purchase under part I of the Tenants' Rights, Etc. (Scotland) Act 1980.
It is worthy of comment that it required an Opposition amendment to bring about that self-evident improvement in the Bill, and the Minister has nothing to congratulate himself about on that account.
§ Amendment agreed to.
§ Amendment made: No. 17, in page 14, line 35, leave out '(d)' and insert '(e)'.—[Mr. Rifkind.]
