§ Question accordingly agreed to.
§ Mr. Dennis Skinner (Bolsover)On a point of order, Mr. Speaker. According to the Standing Order relating to the Division that we have just had, 20 hon. Members have to stand in their places for an objection to a Bill to be committed to a Second Reading Committee to be effective. It might not have escaped your notice, Mr. Speaker, that we have just seen one of the first grand Social Democratic-Liberal exercises to thwart the will of the Opposition. However, they could not find more than five hon. Members to stand. They took it to the vote and managed to persuade only 12 hon. Members to vote with them, including two or three Labour Members and a Tory. Does not that show——
§ Mr. SpeakerOrder. I was kind to let the hon. Member for Bolsover (Mr. Skinner) go as far as he did. I am sure that some hon. Members thought that I was a little unkind not to stop him sooner. However, the point is taken.
