HC Deb 13 November 1980 vol 992 c621
Mr. Speaker

As the House probably knows, there is to be no television coverage in House of Commons premises of the State Opening of Parliament this year. However, I understand that, as on previous occasions, the press wishes to take still photographs of the ceremony in the Members' Lobby and from the Press and Commonwealth Galleries of the Chamber. The Services Committee has, through the Accommodation and Administration Sub-Committee, recommended that this customary request should be approved, and I have accepted the recommendation.
