Resolved,

That, in the opinion of this House— (a) provision should be made for the payment of a car mileage allowance in respect of any journey by a spouse of a Member of this House begun after the date of this Resolution for which, under the Resolutions of this House of 7 April 1971 and 22 July 1975, facilities for free travel would be available to him or her if the journey were made by rail, sea or air.;

5 That, in the opinion of this House, the grant payable to persons who, on a dissolution, cease to be Members of this House in the circumstances specified in paragraph (9) of the second Resolution of this House of 20th December 1971 should be related, in the manner shown by the Table below, to age and length of service as a Member of this House at the time of the dissolution, the percentages shown being percentages of the yearly salary at the highest rate payable to Members immediately before the dissolution.
