Amendments made: No. 34, in page 7, line 36, leave out from 'work' to end of line 37 and insert 'of any description unless they have first prepared a written statement—

  1. (a) of the amount which they will credit to their DLO revenue account in respect of carrying out the work or of carrying out work of that description which they intend or expect to carry out; or
  2. (b) of a method by which they intend that the amount to be so credited shall be calculated'.

No. 35, in page 7, line 38, after 'regulations', insert '(a)'.

No. 36, in page 7, line 42, at end insert and (b) specify other conditions with which a local authority or development body must

comply, as well as complying with subsection (2) above, before they undertake functional work of any other description.'. —[Mr. Fox.]

Amendment proposed: No. 38, in page 7, line 42, at end insert— (3B) no regulations made under this part of the Act shall in respect of general highway works or works of new construction other than general highway works require a local authority or a development body to invite offers under subsection 4 of this section, in respect of any amount of such works, which in the estimation of the authority or development body will not exceed £250,000.'.—[Mr. Fox.]
