I beg to move amendment No. 70, in page 24, line 7, leave out from second 'the' to end of line 10 and insert 'standard amount'.

These amendments are consequences of amendment No. 443, which incorporated paragraph 5 of schedule 2 to the Local Government Act 1974, appropriately reworded, into schedule 8 to the Bill.

Amendments made: No. 71, in page 24, line 14, leave out 'amount so prescribed' and insert 'standard amount'.

No. 72, in page 24, line 18, leave out 'amount so prescribed' and insert 'standard amount'.

No. 73, in page 24, line 20, leave out 'amount so prescribed' and insert 'standard amount'.

No. 74, in page 24, line 20, at end add— '(1B) In subsection (1) of this section "the standard amount" means—

  1. (a) the amount prescribed for the year for the rating authority's area under paragraph 5 of Schedule 2 to the Local Government Act 1974; or
  2. (b) the amount specified for that year for their area in a Rate Support Grant Report under section 48 of the Local Government, Planning and Land Act 1980.'.—[Mr. Brooke.]
