§ Mr. Secretary Howell, supported by Secretary Sir Keith Joseph, Mr. Secretary Prior, Mr. Secretary Younger, Mr. Secretary Edwards, Mr. Secretary Jenkin, Mr. Nigel Lawson, Mr. Hamish Gray, Mr. Norman Lamont, and Mr. John Moore presented a Bill to increase the limit on the borrowing powers of the National Coal Board and otherwise to amend the law with respect to loans to the Board; to make new provision for grants by the Secretary of State to the Board and to provide a new limit for those grants and for grants to the Board and other persons under certain existing powers; to amend the Coal Industry Act 1977; and to increase the limit on grants by the Secretary of State to the Board under section 1 of the Coal Industry Act 1975: And the same was read the First time; and ordered to be read a second time upon Monday 21 April and to be printed.
