§ Mr. Michael English (Nottingham, West)On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker. The hon. Member for Harborough (Mr. Farr) has been kind enough to indicate that he may wish to object to the appointment of each of these Select Committees. I wonder whether you will give him an opportunity to explain why, 1749 the point being that if he objects to the proposed Foreign Affairs, Home Affairs, Defence and Treasury and Civil Service Committees he may be accused of acting as a stooge in order to prevent discussion of the case of Mr. Anthony Blunt in the only bodies capable of discussing it.
Mr. Deputy SpeakerThis is not the occasion when the hon. Member for Harborough (Mr. Farr) would be in a position to explain, If it is the hon. Gentleman's intention to object to all the motions to set up these Committees, perhaps it will be in order for me to put them all together.
