§ Mr. Robert Maclennan, supported by Mr. Hugh D. Brown, Mr. Norman Buchan, and Mr. William Hamilton, presented a Bill to make further provision for the Highlands and Islands Development Board to promote better land us.; to empower the Board to require land-owners to comply with the Board's directions and to provide for default powers including the nomination of tenants, and the acquisition and holding of the land subject to compensation, and for appeals by those affected; and to establish local advisory committees in the Highlands and Islands; And the same was read the First time; and ordered to be read a Second time upon Friday 9 November 1979 and to be printed.
