Motion made, and Question proposed, That no Motion shall be made for the nomination of Members to serve on a select committee designated in paragraph (2) of Standing Order (Select Committees related to Government Departments), or for their discharge, unless:

  1. (a) notice of the Motion has been given at least two sitting days previously, and
  2. (b) the Motion is made on behalf of the Committee of Selection by the Chairman or by another member of that Committee.—[Mr. St. John-Stevas.]

Mr. DEPUTY SPEAKER proceeded, pursuant to Order this day to put forthwith the Questions necessary to dispose of proceedings on the Motion.
