Mr. Michael English (Nottingham, West)

I apologise to the Minister of State. I did not realise that he was winding up so early. Shall we be able to amend the Bill?

The Minister of State, Home Office (Mr. Leon Brittan)

I said that although I could not pre-empt a decision, my advice was that it would be in order to amend.

Mr. Merlyn Rees (Leeds, South)

Why is reference made in the money resolution to social security payments for Northern Ireland when there is no mention of social security for the rest of the United Kingdom?

Mr. Brittan

I am not able to give an answer immediately, but I shall look into the matter.

Question put and agreed to.
