Mr. Kenneth Lomas presented a Bill to abolish the right of hereditary peers to vote; to provide for the eventual extinction of the hereditary peerage; to make other provision with respect to the functions of hereditary peers; to make provision with respect to the composition of the House of Lords and to the powers of the House of Lords with respect to legislation and its other functions; to provide for the payment of salaries to certain members of the House of Lords; and for purposes connected therewith: And the same was read the First time; and ordered to be read a Second time upon Friday 6 April and to be printed.
