§ The Minister of State, Northern Ireland Office (Mr. Michael Alison)I beg to move,
That the draft Perjury (Northern Ireland) Order 1979, which was laid before this House on 21 November, be approved.The purpose of the order is to consolidate the Perjury Act (Northern Ireland) 1946 and the enactments amending it.The order is one of strict consolidation in that it reproduces the existing law without any change of substance.
I commend it to the House.
