§ 17. Mr. Greville Jannerasked the Secretary of State for Employment whether he will introduce legislation to enable prohibition and improvement notices to be served upon the Crown.
§ Mr. John GrantI have nothing further to add to the reply given to my hon. and learned Friend's earlier Question on 24th October.
§ Mr. JannerDoes not my hon. Friend consider that the Crown should be just as punctilious in its safety practices, and just as liable to enforcement and prohibition arrangements, as any other employer in the land?
§ Mr. GrantI accept the first part of my hon. and learned Friend's supplementary question. The whole matter of Crown immunity raises important questions of principle, and these are under consideration by Ministers in consultation with the Health and Safety Commission.
