I beg to move amendment no. 19, in page 27, line 23, leave out subsections (5) and (6).

With this we may take the following amendments: No. 128, in page 27, line 23, leave out from beginning to end of line 27 on page 28.

No. 129, in page 28, line 44, at end insert— 'Provided that no increase in the total liability to capital gains tax for the years of assessment 1977–78 and 1978–79 shall result from the provisions of this section in the case of a husband and wife living together over what their total liability thereto would have been but for the changes made by this section'. Government amendments nos. 20 and 21.
