§ 15. Mr. Brothertonasked the Secretary of State for Transport if he will make a statement about future plans for the Louth bypass.
§ Mr. HoramThe next stage will be to consult the public on alternative routes, probably towards the end of this year.
§ Mr. BrothertonIs the hon. Gentleman aware of the considerable differences of opinion in Louth about the proposed routes and on the question whether there is any necessity for the bypass? Can he assure us that a decision will be made swiftly in the interests of all concerned?
§ Mr. HoramI am not sure that it will be possible to satisfy everyone, since the hon. Gentleman has brought to my attention clear differences of opinion over the different routes and, indeed, over the 449 question whether we should have a by-pass. I must take account of such a lack of enthusiasm, but we shall try to make the decision as soon as we can.
