Queen's Recommendation having been signified.

Resolved.

That, for the purposes of any Act of the present Session to make provision for lump sum payments to pensioners, it is expedient to authorise the payment out of moneys provided by Parliament of

  1. (a) any sums required for making payments under that Act by virtue of qualifying benefits entitlement to which arises or is treated as arising under any enactment or instrument applying in the United Kingdom generally or in Great Britain only, being payments not exceeding the following amount in the case of any person, that is to say £10 together with a further £10 in respect of any spouse of that person ;
  2. (b) any administrative costs incurred by any government department (including a Northern Ireland department) in connection with the making of any such payments.—[Mr. Robert Sheldon.]
