§ Mr. WardI beg to move, That this House doth agree with the Lords in the said amendment.
2179 The amendments relate to unreasonable indemnity clauses. It has been suggested that the words "his own" in the clause, a term requiring an indemnity in respect of a business man's vicarious or general liability, might not be included. Since negligence is a breach of duty, the point is probably covered by Clause 1(4). As the words serve no purpose other than that of emphasis, I believe that we should accept the view of the other place that they might as well be omitted.
