§ The Lord President of the Council and Leader of the House of Commons (Mr. Michael Foot)With permission, Mr. Speaker, I should like to make a short Business Statement. The business for next Monday and Tuesday has been rearranged as follows:
MONDAY 5TH DECEMBER—There Will be an emergency debate on the Crown Agents.
Afterwards, motions on the Amendment of Units of Measurement (Hydrocarbon Oil etc.) Order, the Local Loans (Increase of Limit) (No. 2) Order and the Code of Recommendations for the Welfare of Livestock relating to sheep.
TUESDAY 6TH DECEMBER—Progress in Committee on the Scotland Bill.
Motion relating to the Sheriff (Removal from Office) Order.
§ Mr. Tom KingI should like to thank the Leader of the House for making that Business Statement. I understand that it was in response to pressures concerning the importance of the debate on the report of the Public Accounts Committee which I understand is to be kept for another occasion so that it may still have the full day originally allocated for it.
§ Mr. FootThe rearrangement was necessary in order to give priority, not a subordinate position, to the debate on the report of the Public Accounts Committee.
