Lords amendment: No. 13, in page 3, line 40, at end insert new Clause B:
B.—(1) The Secretary of State shall appoint an independent Committee of Inquiry into the operation and results of secondary schools having particular regard to—
§ (b) the effect of classes of mixed ability on the quality of education.
§ (2) The said Committee of Inquiry shall lay the report of its findings before both Houses of Parliament within two years of the passing of this Act."
