HC Deb 05 November 1976 vol 918 c1699
Mr. Patrick Cormack (Staffordshire, South-West)

With your permission, Mr. Speaker, and that of the House, I beg to present a petition from my constituents in Great Wyrley, which just so happens to be that part of my constituency adjacent to Walsall, North.

The petition is designed to make the Secretary of State think again about his modification to the county structure plan. It is supported by people of all parties and of none and has been signed by over one-third of the electorate.

The petition states: Your petitioners therefore have urged the Parish Council of the said Parish to make known to your honourable House by every means in its power their strong and resolute opposition to this proposal. Wherefore your petitioners pray that your honourable House takes such steps as it thinks fit to ensure that these grievances are given sympathetic consideration.

And your petitioners, as in duty bound, will ever pray.

I beg leave to present the petition.

To lie upon the Table.
