Mr. Stephen Ross, supported by Mr. David Steel, Mr. Peter Walker, Mr. Bruce Douglas-Mann, Mr. Andrew Welsh, Mr. Dafydd Wigley, Mr. David Knox, Mr. John Cartwright, Mr. Nicholas Scott, Mrs. Millie Miller, Mr. Fred Evans, and Mrs. Gwyneth Dunwoody, presented a Bill to make further provision as to the functions of local authorities with respect to persons who are homeless or threatened with homelessness; to provide for the giving of assistance to voluntary organisations concerned with homelessness by the Secretary of State and local authorities; to repeal section 25 of the National Assistance Act 1948; and for connected purposes: And the same was read the First time; and ordered to be read a Second time upon Friday 18th February and to be printed [Bill 20].
