HC Deb 03 November 1975 vol 899 c27
The Lord President of the Council and Leader of the House of Commons (Mr. Edward Short)

I beg to move, That Mr. Tom Pendry and Mr. William Shelton have leave of absence to present on behalf of this House a Mace to the House of Assembly of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas. The House will remember that on 18th June this year it approved the presentation of an independence gift to the Bahamas. The motion today, if approved, gives leave of absence to a small delegation to present the gift on our behalf.

The House may wish to know that the composition of the delegation has been arranged with you, Mr. Speaker, and that it will be accompanied by Mr. Ryle, a Clerk of this House.

Question put and agreed to.
