§ Mrs. HaymanI beg leave of the House to present a petition on the subject of one-parent families. It is supported by more than 2,000 signatures collected by the Women's Organisation of the Labour Party in the South-Western Region, and it calls upon this House to implement the main recommendation of the Finer Committee's Report on One-Parent Families to give a special cash allowance, namely, the guaranteed maintenance allowance, to all lone parents and their children.
