HC Deb 18 March 1975 vol 888 c1592

Order for Second Reading read

9.58 p.m.

The Parliament Secretary to the Law Officers' Department (Mr. Arthur Davidson)

I beg to move, That the Bill be now read a Second time.

I do not think that I need say anything by way of introducing the Bill. It consolidates the parallel legislation for Northern Ireland which was dealt with by the previous Act. This measure, too, has been before the Joint Committee. It was introduced in the House of Lords, it is a creature of the Law Commission, and I accordingly commend it to the House.

Question put and agreed to.

Bill accordingly read a Second time.

Bill committed to a Committee of the whole House.—[Mr. John Ellis.]

Bill immediately considered in Committee; reported, without amendment

It being Ten o'clock, Mr. Speaker interrupted the proceedings
