§ Mr. Secretary Crosland, supported by Mr. Edward Short, Mr. Secretary John Morris, Mr. Joel Barnett, Mr. Reginald 1962 Freeson and Mr. Attorney General presented a Bill to prevent surcharges under the Local Government Act 1933 arising out of the Housing Finance Act 1972; to substitute other means of making good losses or deficiencies in respect of which such surcharges would fall to be made; to terminate any disqualification for election to a local authority arising from a surcharge made in consequence of failure to implement the said Act of 1972; and for connected purposes: and the same was read the First time; and ordered to be read a Second time upon Monday next and to be printed.
