Queen's Recommendation having been signified

Resolved, That for the purposes of any Act of the present Session to amend the Northern Ireland (Emergency Provisions) Act 1973, it is expedient to authorize—

(1) the payment out of moneys provided by Parliament—

  1. (a) of remuneration and allowance to Advisers appointed under the Act of the present Session;
  2. (b) of any reasonable costs or expenses incurred by a person detained under that Act in obtaining legal advice or assistance;
  3. (c) of any reasonable expenses incurred by any person in connection with a reference to an Adviser appointed under that Act;
  4. (d) of any payments to persons released or about to be released from detention under that Act; and

(2) any increase attributable to the Act of the present Session in the sums payable under any other Act out of moneys provided by Parliament.—[Mr. Walter Harrison.]
