§ [2ND ALLOTTED DAY]
§ As amended (in the Standing Committee), further considered.
§ 3.58 p.m.
§ Mr. SpeakerBefore I call the first amendment I should like to mention the time to be taken for Divisions. I tried to save some time yesterday by cutting down the period. I understand that that led to some difficulties. Therefore, I propose to revert to the current interval of six minutes between the appointment of the Tellers and the order to lock the doors. In other words, there will be a period of eight minutes altogether.
It would be for the convenience of the House, in a situation where one Division takes place immediately after another, that I should, at discretion, cut down the period of the Division. My only desire is to save the time of the House, and I shall do the best I can.
