Queen's Recommendation having been signified

Resolved, That, for the purposes of any Act of the present Session to make further provision as respects local government finance in Scotland, and to make provision for the appointment and functions of a Commissioner for the investigation of administrative action taken by or on behalf of local and other authorities, it is expedient to authorise the payment out of money provided by Parliament of—

  1. (a) any administrative expenses incurred by the Secretary of State under that Act;
  2. (b) any increase in the sums payable out of money so provided under section 1 of the Rural Water Supplies and Sewerage Act 1944 which is attributable to any provision of the said Act of the present Session removing the limit imposed by subsection
(5) of the said section 1 as amended and as applied to Scotland on the contributions under that section towards the expenses of local authorities in Scotland; (c) any increase attributable to the provisions of the said Act of the present Session in the sums payable out of money so provided under any other enactment.—[Mr. Walter Johnson.]
