HC Deb 28 April 1975 vol 891 c197
Mrs. Millie Miller (Ilford, North)

With your permission, Mr. Deputy Speaker, and that of the House I beg leave to present a petition, signed by 7,500 persons from a wide variety of areas in the country, the subject of the petition being a request to the Government to provide freedom to individuals and defined groups to inspect written or other recorded information on and concerning them kept by any official body.

The basis for the petition is the growing presence in many official quarters of files about individuals to which they have no access and no opportunity to rectify any errors which appear in the files.

I beg leave to submit the petition for the consideration of the House.

To lie upon the Table.
