Lords Amendment: No. 7, in page 6, leave out lines 13 to 17, and insert:
sections 34, 35 and 38 of the 1972 Act shall cease to have effect.
§ Mr. MillanI beg to move, That this House doth agree with the Lords in the said amendment.
§ Mr. Deputy SpeakerWith this amendment we are to discuss Lords Amendment No. 19.
§ Mr. MillanThese are tidying-up amendments. As drafted, the clause provides for the repeal of Section 36(1)(a) of the 1972 Act. This provision applies to certain provisions of Section 34 of the same Act. Although Section 34 is now being repealed, we have to continue Section 36 because certain decontrolled tenancies under Section 34 require to be dealt with under Section 36. That is why it must continue.
§ Question put and agreed to.
