HC Deb 16 April 1975 vol 890 cc418-9
5. Mr. Townsend

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will obtain and make available details of all accidents that took place on London Transport's Underground system in the last 12 months.

The Minister for Transport (Mr. Frederick Mulley)

Yes, Sir. I am obtaining full details and will write to the hon. Member, but apart from Moor-gate the accidents were minor.

Mr. Townsend

I am grateful to the Minister and I should like to pay tribute to the good record of London Transport. Does the right hon. Gentleman agree that it is only right that the public should know the accident rate of London Transport?

Mr. Mulley

I should like to endorse what the hon. Gentleman has properly and generously said about the good record of London Transport, which underlines the great tragedy at Moorgate.
