HC Deb 28 November 1974 vol 882 cc918-9

Question proposed, That the clause stand part of the Bill.

Mr. Beith

It will not be amiss of me for a few seconds to draw the attention of the Committee to the fact that this clause, which is fashioned on a provision which has appeared many times in the past, is on this occasion no idle formality. I ask for an assurance that the Home Secretary is aware that it is no idle formality and that the situation as regards the Isle of Man in particular could give rise to a very great deal of concern. An answer to that effect would satisfy me entirely.

Question put and agreed to.

Clause 11 ordered to stand part of the Bill.
