HC Deb 18 June 1974 vol 875 c439
Mrs. Sally Oppenheim

I beg to ask leave to present a Petition drawn up by the National Association of Ladies Circles of Great Britain and Ireland, which calls for more thorough investigation into the detection of breast cancer and for facilities to be made more easily available in order to ensure the early diagnosis of this disease. This Petition contains in excess of 12,500 signatures, collected by the association's branches throughout the whole country.

The Petition concludes by asking that this House should promote further research into the early diagnosis of breast cancer and urges the need for a screening programme to be more readily available.

The Petition concludes: And your Petitioners, as in duty bound, will ever pray".

To lie upon the Table.
