Mr. Alan WilliamsI beg to move Amendment No. 14, in page 28, line 18, leave out subsection (3).
878 This again is the result of a discussion in Committee. The Opposition argued the case for the Finances Houses Association and I thought that there was a fair point to be met. We made certain changes in Committee in relation to the consumer as to what would be the initial date under the legislation, and we thought that the receipt seemed to be the appropriate provision for the consumer. But it seems equally obvious that, if we are to accept that in relation to the consumer interest involved, we should make a parallel adjustment as far as the trade is concerned. This amendment puts both on the same basis.
Mr. ChansonWe are grateful for the amendment, which is an improvement to the Bill. In order to save time, I will say now that the Government have made a number of concessions and we are grateful to all of them. I shall not rise on each occasion to say so. I will now express our comprehensive gratitude for these Amendments.
§ Amendment agreed to.
