Lords amendment: No. 48, in page 45, line 41, at end insert: "the relevant agricultural purposes' means the following purposes, that is to say—

  1. (a) securing the health, safety and welfare at work of persons engaged in agricultural operations,
  2. (b) protecting persons other than persons so engaged against risks to health or safety arising out of or in connection with the activities at work of persons so engaged; "

Amendment to the proposed amendment made: at end of definition of "relevant agricultural purposes" add— and the reference in paragraph (b) above to the risks there mentioned shall be construed in accordance with Section 1(3) ".—[Mr. Harold Walker.]
