Queen's Recommendation having been signified—

Resolved, That, for the purposes of any Act of the present Session to amend the provisions of the Social Security Act 1973 as to the rate or amount of benefit and contributions, it is expedient to authorise the payment out of money provided by Parliament of:

  1. (1) any increase in the sums payable out of money so provided under any enactment where the increase is attributable to provisions of the said Act of the present Session:
    1. (a) raising to £8.00 and £5.35 the rates of attendance allowance;
    2. (b) raising to £6.00 and £3.70 the rates of Category C and D retirement pensions or raising the rates of increases (where payable for children and adult dependants;
  2. (2) any increase in the sums payable out of money so provided by way of Treasury supplements under subsection (5) of section 1 of the said Act of 1973 where the increase is attributable to provisions of the said Act of the present Session altering such contributions as are mentioned in subsection (2) of that section.—[Mr. Walter Harrison.]
