Resolved, That, for the purposes of any Act of the present Session to amend the provisions of the Social Security Act 1973 as to the rate or amount of benefit and contributions, it is expedient to authorise:

  1. (1) any increase attributable to the said Act of the present Session in the sums which, under the said Act of 1973, are to be taken as paid towards the cost of the national health service in Great Britain;
  2. (2) the payment into the Consolidated Fund of any increase attributable to the said Act of the present Session in the sums payable into that Fund under the said Act of 1973.—[Mr. Walter Harrison.]
