JosephAs I told the House during the debate on the report on the adoption of children on 9th November last—[Vol. 863, c. 1335–51.]—the Government are pressing forward with the preparatory work for legislation on the report's recommendations. The hon. Member for Plymouth, Sutton (Dr. David Owen) has a Bill concerned with the recommendations which is for Second Reading on 8th February.
§ Mr. CormackI thank my right hon. Friend for that reply. May I urge on him the necessity for the Government making clear their position on this vital matter as soon as possible?
