HC Deb 18 June 1973 vol 858 c30
Mr. Biggs-Davison

On a point of order, Mr. Speaker. It is necessary for the scrutiny of the executive and conduct of proper debate that this House should be provided with the OFFICIAL REPORT in due time. It is now a week, I think, Mr. Speaker, that we have been without HANSARD. I would respectfully inquire what action is being taken to ensure that the OFFICIAL REPORT is placed in the hands of hon. Members. This situation seems to me to be tantamount to a contempt of this House and an action tending to frustrate the parliamentary process.

Mr. Speaker

The hon. Member has raised a matter which concerns a great inconvenience to all hon. Members and. indeed, to myself.

I have been considering the situation anxiously. I think that all that I had better say at present is that I will convey to those responsible the point which has been raised, and perhaps something may be said about it tomorrow.
