Queen's Recommendation having been signified

Resolved, That, for the purposes of any Act of the present Session to establish a Northern Ireland Assembly and to provide for election to that Assembly, it is expedient to authorise—

  1. (a) the payment out of money provided by Parliament of
    1. (i) a salary for each member at a rate not exceeding £2,500 a year, and
    2. (ii) allowances to meet expenses incurred on secretarial assistance, subject to a limit for each member of £600 for the 12 months beginning with the date on which the member is returned,
  2. (b) the payment out of the Consolidated Fund of any costs incurred by a government department in connection with the election under that Act,
  3. (c) any payment into the Consolidated Fund—[Mr. Peter Mills.]
