HC Deb 08 November 1972 vol 845 cc1001-2
41. Mr. Barnes

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment when he intends to make a decision on the amendment to the initial development plan for Brentford submitted to him by the Hounslow Borough Council.

Mr. Speed

My right hon. and learned Friend hopes to issue his decision tomorrow.

Mr. Barnes

Is the hon. Gentleman aware that this decision will be very welcome indeed, because for a long time Hounslow Council has been ready to start work on the new town centre of Brentford and has been wondering when the right hon. Gentleman would take the decision? It is a decision which has been expected for a long time, and will he take it from me that if it is given tomorrow it will be most welcome?

Mr. Speed

I assure the hon. Gentleman that the decision will be made known tomorrow. There was a problem about the future of Brentford Hospital and there are a number of matters on which a decision has been reached. A copy of the decision will go to the hon. Gentleman.
