§ 31. Mr. Dalyellasked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he will expedite his study of the problem of exhaust fumes, in the light of the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority report, a copy of which is in his pos session, that chemicals emitted in exhaust fumes are combining with sunlight to create smog conditions, and that dangerous pollution is being prevented only by climatic conditions.
§ Mr. AmeryMy right hon. Friend has already announced his intention to introduce controls over the emission of carbon monoxide from vehicles and further measures to restrict hydrocarbon emissions. There is no evidence to suggest that photochemical smog is a significant hazard in this country.
