HC Deb 27 July 1972 vol 841 c2068
Mr. Speaker

Perhaps it would help if I informed the House that for the debate on Wednesday, 2nd August, on Second Reading of the Consolidated Fund (Appropriation) Bill hon. Members may hand into my office by 9.30 a.m. on Tuesday, 1st August, their names and the topics they wish to raise. The Ballot will be carried out as on the previous occasion. An hon. Member may hand in only his own name and one topic.

The debate on the Second Reading of this Bill is, in the words of Erskine May on page 729 of the 18th Edition commensurate with the whole range of administrative policy. It covers, for example, all the main estimates for the current financial year and the revised Estimates presented since then (in House of Commons Papers 198, 313 and 314). It will be in order, on Second Reading, to raise any topic falling within the compass of these Estimates. I shall put out the result of the Ballot later on Tuesday, 1st August.
