§ Mr. BidwellAlthough it is appreciated that the Minister's responsibilities are not exactly directly involved in local Post Office facilities nowadays, will he undertake personally to look at the situation which seems to be arising consequent upon the relocation of the head post office in South all High Street and the planned subsequent closure of sub-post offices, particularly that in the High Street which, according to local residents, is likely to cause considerable hardship, particularly to old people living in the area?
§ Sir J. EdenI am grateful to the hon. Gentleman for recognising that this is not directly a matter for me. Therefore, I must tell him that the nature and scale of the counter services provided in a given locality are management matters for the Post Office and he would be right to pursue his inquiries direct with the Post Office.
